REGISTER NOW FOR OUR AUDITION PREP MASTER CLASS SERIES

Something powerful is rising in the South Valley Cities!  A new era of youth theater is a bout to begin. Voices will be heard. Stories will be told. We can't wait to begin this new adventure with the cities in the South Valley!  We will be accepting auditions starting April 1, 2026

Performances will  be July 30, 31, Aug 1, Aug 3.  Rehearsals will be Monday through Saturday from 6-9 pm and Saturdays from 9-1 pm. Children's cast will come on Fridays from 3:00-4:30 and Saturdays for a portion of the rehearsal. 

You will prepare 30 seconds of any song of your choice in the style of Newsies. You will learn the audition dance provided for you. You will record yourself doing the dance. You will then fill out the audition forms and upload your recordings of your song and the dance into the audition form.

Please record your dance video in one file if doing more than one dance section. 

This video includes three dance tutorials for the Newsies Jr. dance audition with South Valley Performing Arts.

Basic Dance Tutorial – Designed for auditioners with little or no formal dance experience. If you’re newer to dance, this is a great place to start.

Advanced Dance Tutorial – For performers with prior dance training or a stronger dance background. Choose this version if you feel comfortable with more advanced choreography.. Please select either the Basic or Advanced dance for your audition.

Optional Tap Combination – If you have tap experience (or would like to give it a try), you may also prepare this section in addition to your chosen dance.
