About South Valley Performing Arts
Our Partnership With Advantage Arts Academy
South Valley Performing Arts, in conjunction with Rising Stars Musical Theater Academy & Camps, has made it our goal to make instruction and education for the performing arts available across the valley. Our varied locations in the Salt Lake Valley allow us to connect with the communities of different cities and attract students, performers, visitors, and patrons from all over. Our musical theater summer camps for youth and performances are key in helping our performers blossom in their growth.
We will be holding our camps at the Advantage Arts Academy in Herriman, Utah. Advantage Advantage Arts Academy (AAA) is a tuition-free public charter school for grades K-6. Their rigorous curriculum is paired with arts integration to provide an enriched classroom focused on academics and creativity. Advantage Arts Academy is the only elementary school in Utah that will use the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTSALP) model as a focus. Because of their focus on the arts, we felt this was a wonderful partnership and are so thrilled about the opportunity to participate in expanding their vision.
Our Partnership with Jordan Education Foundation
South Valley Performing Arts is thrilled to be sponsored in part by Jordan Education Foundation. This partnership helps each organization accomplish our goals of helping the next generation develop and master their skills and talents in the classroom setting, on stage, and in life.
A portion of proceeds from SVPA productions is donated to the JEF where those funds will directly benefit the theater programs in the Jordan School District.
The vision & mission of JEF is a community fulfilling the promise of potential in every child, every day. Jordan Education Foundation engages the community to provide resources to enhance educational experiences, strengthen students, and fuel success in Jordan School District.
Working with the Community
One of the missions of South Valley Performing Arts is to unite each of the city arts programs in the South end of the Salt Lake Valley. SVPA aims to support the arts programs in South Jordan, Bluffdale, Riverton, Herriman and West Jordan to collaborate, communicate and elevate their all ready amazing arts programs. An arts representative from each of these cities has a place on our general board.
The professional theater productions produced by SVPA will give back to the community by providing high quality entertainment and traditions for performers and patrons, while also donating proceeds to the various High School Christmas charity drives and school programs. One of the purposes of SVPA is to unite communities, cities, and schools by giving back and providing high quality theater productions and programs.
